Areva Martin, Esq. was selected among an elite group of women this year to be honored with a “Smart Cookie Award” by Cookie magazine. Featured in the May issue of Cookie magazine among five other “Smart Cookie Award” recipients Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lee Woodruff, Christie Brinkley, Roni Lomeli and Karenna Gore Schiff, Areva is recognized for the Special Need Network’s (an organization she co-founded in 2005) efforts to provide resources and skills training for families, especially low income ones, with autistic or developmentally disabled children in South Los Angeles. Areva received the award on April 21, 2008 at the Morgan Library in New York at a gala reception sponsored by CitiBank and Avon and hosted by ABC reporter Deborah Roberts.
